The Miracle of Life

Praise the Lord!

How wonderful it is to celebrate the life God has breathed into us!  Everyday is truly a blessing and I can't help but see how amazing the Lord is in His handiwork when I look at my family, at how fearfully and wonderfully we are made, and especially when a new baby arrives!

Well, I haven't had my baby yet, but I recently finished a baby scrapbook for one of the sisters at my church.  It was such an honor and pleasure to give her the gift of being able to scrapbook pictures and journal details of her first son's life so that she can look back and cherish those moments for years to come...as well as preserve a part of her family history!

Here are a few pictures of the inside...

I found a beautiful vellum paper featuring baby footprints at Hobby Lobby and matted it onto a chocolate paper before layering it on the blue scrapbook paper.
"My Perfect Gift from God" is written with a blue gel pen and added a lovely sparkle effect that is not visible in this photo (sorry)...
"Heaven-Sent Baby of Mine" is featured on the second page of this layout, also done in blue gel pen.  The italic calligraphy was done with a Marvy Uchida Calligraphy Pen.
Most of the scrapbooking paper used is by Bazill or Recollections (Michael's), with ribbon accents from Hobby Lobby.

This page features a handmade envelope in light blue matted onto a cappuccino-colored scrapbook paper with little dots...I just love the texture!
Every scrapbook should feature a little book that allows space to write details and extras that don't fit with the pages that have photos...This is a handmade book using that same textured card stock featured above...the picture below shows the inside with a pocket on the left holding little note cards and the mini-book journal pages on the right...

I don't think this picture really does justice in showing the pearlescent effects of the fabric paint (Scribbles from Michael's) calligraphy design featured on the outside of the scrapbook.  The book itself is more of a dark chocolate color and the paint is light blue.

I really had a lot of fun putting this book together and can't wait to show you the scrapbook of my own baby girl soon to be born!

Until next time...may God bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you is my prayer.

The Gift of Marriage

Praise the Lord!

So sorry I haven't posted in a while...with learning of pregnancy #7 (but this will be baby #8!) and working on my aunt's wedding invites, I've been pretty busy along with taking care of my family....

Well, here are some pictures of the invitation so far...

The first picture features the original design of the invitation, until we found out it would cost about $2 each to mail...wow, multiply that by 150 and that's a hefty sum of money beside the other wedding costs....Anyhow, the second picture is the reworked design for the invitation.

This is the final version with the pleated silver ribbon overlaying the plum organza ribbon allowed the gatefold cardstock to close easier. Sorry the picture is a little blurry.

My aunt says that her guests have been calling her to tell her they've never seen anything like this before and how beautiful they are...It's always great to know that whoever I do a project for, that they are more than satisfied...they know they've received something especially handmade for them!

Although I used the computer for the invitation wording and the monogram featured on the outside, everything was assembled by hand and the envelopes were hand addressed in calligraphy by me...
May God bless you as you cherish the loved ones He has blessed you with.

Love and prayers,

The Beauty of the Cross

There are so many beautiful songs about the Cross, expressing love for a mighty Savior dying for the sins of the whole world, and no wonder the Cross has become a traditional home decor item to remind us of the debt Jesus paid for us!

I purchased two wooden crosses some years ago, not quite sure what to do with them at the time, but they were too beautiful to pass up.  I kept them in my treasures of future project items.  So glad I did, because one came in handy for my Pastor's husband's 75th birthday!

I had found some music scrapbook paper at Michael's and used a permanent tape Glue Glider to adhere the paper to the cross after tracing the shape and trimming it to fit each piece.

After adhering the paper to the cross, I used a gold leafing pen for the center and the edges.  You can't tell from the picture, but I also inked the edges with Studio G pigment ink (Michael's).

To complete the project, I sprayed Krylon Clear Finish to preserve it and give it some shine!  It turned out to be quite a decorative piece for a godly man who is like King David - a man after God's own heart!  he loves music and has begun writing his own music, an awesome gift to be given from the Lord!

May the Lord continue to shine upon you and be gracious unto you as you remember all that Jesus means to we prepare to celebrate on Resurrection Sunday!

Blossom as the rose

The rose...A symbol of love, faith and honor, it has captured many artists' attention over the centuries.  In 1986, the rose became the floral emblem of the United States.  In the Bible, the King Solomon penned the words I am the rose of Sharon.

With the beauty of a rose in mind, this is my newest design...

This design will be featured on cards and scrapbook paper kits.

May the blessings of the Lord fill your soul as you blossom as the rose!

Blessings,

To everything there is a season...

The wisest king penned the heart touching words in Ecclesiastes: To everything there is a season.

Time and chance happen to us all.

A dear friend of mine lost her son in a car wreck last week...This is the card that the Lord anointed me to make for her...

Even though the words I say may not take her pain away, one thing I know for sure is that God's words are spirit and they are life.  He is the God of all comfort.

May your day be blessed as the Lord strengthens your inner man.

Blessings,

God's Season For Blessings

Have you ever prayed for something in particular, and because you truly cast that care upon Him, you sort of forgot about it?

Well, that happened to me again today!  I was curling my hair, getting ready for Bible Study, and all of a sudden the song my husband was listening to reminded me of a prayer I'd prayed and God's promise to do a new thing.  It was at that moment that I realized He had answered my prayer.  Talk about excited! I was excited at the living God being so mindful of little ole me!

Well, enough about that.  What I really wanted to share is the project I've been working on for two days (officially, because I work on it in my mind much longer before my ideas come to reality!).

A gift for my Pastor...

This is the vintage Birthday Blessings card I created especially for my Pastor, featuring an original poem called God's Garden.

A mini journal...

God-Sent Greetings

God-Sent Greetings

It took me some time to come up with the title of the journal because I wanted it to be just right.  Since we are always graced with hearing Pastor share the miracles God has done over the years, and this is one of her favorite James Cleveland songs, the Lord inspired me to title it "God is still working miracles in my life".

I also made her some notecards along with journal pages and put them in a little pocket inside the journal.  The back of the journal features Psalm 34:1.  I used Colorbok cardstock and scrapbooking papers.

I am so grateful to the Lord for putting me under such a beautiful Pastor who teaches us to have a relationship with God and to seek him and his righteousness.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog and share your comments with me.  May the rest of your week be blessed as you walk into your season.

Psalm 1:3 And he shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Above All We Can Ask Or Think

How has praise made a difference in your life?

I'm not just talking about when we go to church, but in our daily lives and routines.  How much do we really praise God?

Praise affects our outlook on life...It takes our focus off ourselves and lifts our heart to glorify our Heavenly Father who is our everything!  So when we really take the time to let Him know how much we appreciate Him for being involved in all our ups and downs, ins and outs, battles and victories... through praise, the results are above all we can ask or think!

This morning, as I reflect on how God has made my life so meaningful and how without Him I am nothing, He reminded me of a song I learned as a little girl.  Sometimes, when there are no words to say, I just sing a song to the Lord and He encourages my heart.

May this song encourage you as it has me! (Click  Praise the Lord by The Imperials)

I know this doesn't have anything to do with cardmaking, but sometimes a song inspires me to write an original sentiment for the inside of a card, or just allows me to work on my craft while singing songs that encourage my walk with the Lord.

What kinds of ways do you let God in during your daily life routines that keep you uplifted throughout the day?  I would love for you to share them with me!

God's Blessings,

Angenise

A God-Sent Greetings Journey

2012 God-Sent Greetings, LLC. All rights reserved.
God-Sent Greetings began "unofficially" in 2005 when a dear friend of mine lost her daughter to AIDS.  I wanted to create something special, something that expressed my heart-felt sentiments instead of someone else's.  So, relying on a gift that I actually began to cultivate in elementary and junior high school, I created a handmade card.
I didn't realize the magnitude of what I had done until I began to create other items such as framed Scripture and bookmarks.  My Pastor had given me a set of calligraphy pens when our church moved to a bigger location, opening the door to a gift that had laid dormant since those school days!  I had been sitting on a gift that I didn't even realize the Lord wanted me to use until He gave me a new start in 2003!
After learning calligraphy from an English teacher in elementary school, the dream of writing was born.  The journey began as my life took twists and turns, some unexpected, some difficult, some life-threatening and all making me into the woman I have become.  Now, as a more mature woman and grateful for such an opportunity to share with all who wish to allow me to be in their lives, and with the help of God and my wonderful husband, I am ready to embark on this journey of having a business.
2012 God-Sent Greetings, LLC. All rights reserved.
More than a business, but rather a gift and blessing to share in servitude and gratitude, God-Sent Greetings means that your gifts (whether for yourself or to share with family and friends) will include the message of God's encouraging Word from the King James Version, along with handwritten sentiments that are thoughtful and from the heart.

May God bless you and make His face to shine upon you each day of this new year!
